Slow, deliberate breathing will help your system to slow down and reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and will lead to greater clarity and focus. Breathwork allows the exploration and practice of various breathing techniques, such as breath awareness, pranayama, abdominal breathing technique, and Buteyko. Conscious breathing increases the amount of oxygen delivered into the body's cells and tissues promotes a healthy heart, healthy organs, better digestion, sleep, and blood circulation and is a wonderful practice to learn as you can apply it every day into your regular life.
Counselling falls under the umbrella term ‘talking therapies’ and allows people to discuss their problems and any difficult feelings they encounter in a safe, confidential environment. The term can mean different things to different people, but in general it is a process people seek when they want to change something in their lives or simply explore their thoughts and feelings in more depth. A counsellor is not there to sit you down and tell you what to do - instead they will encourage you to talk about what's bothering you in order to uncover any root causes and identify your specific ways of thinking. The counsellor may then look to create a plan of action to either help you reconcile your issues or help you to find ways of coping.
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), is a very powerful psychological acupressure technique to optimise emotional health, which is essential in the pursuit of wellbeing. Simple tapping with the fingertips is used to input kinetic energy onto specific energy meridians on the head and chest while you think about a particular problem (a traumatic event, an addiction, pain, habit), and voice positive affirmations. EFT is effective in treating phobias, removing negative emotions, reducing food cravings, reducing or eliminating pain, and implementing positive goals and change lifestyle habits.
Mindfulness meditation involves the process of developing the skill of bringing one’s attention to whatever is happening in the present moment which can be developed through the practice of meditation and other training such as breathing exercise. In Buddhist teachings, mindfulness is utilized to develop self-knowledge and wisdom that gradually lead to what is described as enlightenment or the complete freedom from suffering.
